Understanding the growing demand for high-precision manufacturing in South America's fastest-growing industrial hubs.
Peru has emerged as a resilient and dynamic economic hub in South America, driven by massive expansions in agriculture, mineral processing, and localized consumer goods manufacturing. As the country shifts from exporting raw materials to developing value-added downstream industries, the demand for industrial plastic injection molding has skyrocketed. Cities like Lima, Callao, and Arequipa are positioning themselves as regional manufacturing corridors, requiring high-quality plastic components that meet stringent international standards.
Peruvian industries are rapidly modernizing. The agro-industrial sector, which supplies blueberries, avocados, and grapes globally, requires high-durability drip irrigation emitters and specialized logistics packaging. Meanwhile, the heavy mining sector relies on wear-resistant, high-performance engineered plastics to replace heavy metal components, reducing weight and increasing operational safety.
To compete globally, Peruvian manufacturers are sourcing tooling and injection molded parts from globally certified suppliers. By integrating ISO-certified processes (like IATF16949 for automotive and ISO13485 for medical applications), local assembly plants can guarantee consistency, structural integrity, and compliance for export markets in North America and Europe.
Adapting global technical innovations to solve practical engineering challenges in Peru.
One of the most significant technological shifts in plastic manufacturing is the transition to Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) and multi-material (2K/3K) injection molding. This technology integrates multiple plastic resins or silicone into a single, unified component. In Peru's harsh geographic environments—ranging from the humid Amazonian regions to the high-altitude, high-UV mining zones in the Andes—standard plastics degrade rapidly. LSR components, such as custom harness plugs and waterproof seals, offer unparalleled resistance to temperature fluctuations, moisture, and chemical exposure.
With Peru implementing stricter regulations on single-use plastics and promoting sustainable industrial practices, local factories are turning to bio-based plastics and high-efficiency injection molding processes. Modern tooling technologies allow for thin-wall packaging that reduces raw material consumption without compromising structural durability. Advanced mold design also minimizes scrap generation, aligning with national ESG goals and international green certifications.
The injection molding industry is no longer just about mechanical presses. Today, we utilize digital intelligence and AI-driven process monitoring to analyze cavity pressure, melt temperature, and cooling efficiency in real-time. This level of precision ensures zero-defect manufacturing, which is critical for complex automotive assemblies (such as customized car keys and intelligent door locks) and high-voltage new energy vehicle fuses.
As Latin America embraces new energy vehicles (NEVs) and smart transportation, the demand for precision automotive electronics components is growing. High-precision molding factories provide the critical infrastructure required to produce safety-critical components, such as fuse covers, sensor housings, and electronic keyless entry systems. These parts must withstand extreme vibration, electrical insulation stress, and mechanical wear over decades of operation.

A legacy of precision engineering, continuous innovation, and global expansion since 1988.
After completing the apprentice program, Mr. Felix Choi, the founder of Hongrita, borrowed money and invested in the first milling machine in June 1988. He rented a corner in a friend's factory and established Hongrita Mould Engineering Company, specializing in mold and hardware parts processing. Mr. Choi’s humble, diligent, and progressive entrepreneurial spirit attracted a group of like-minded partners. With the collaborative efforts of the core team and their excellent skills, the company focused on the design and production of complete molds, establishing a reputation for manufacturing precision plastic molds.
In 1993, riding the wave of national reform and opening up, Hongrita established its first base in Longgang District, Shenzhen, and expanded its business to include plastic moulding and secondary processing. After 10 years of growth, the core team believed that it was necessary to build a unique and differentiated competitive advantage in order to be invincible. In 2003, the company began research and development of multi-material/ multi-component moulding technology and moulding process, and in 2012, Hongrita took the lead in making breakthroughs in liquid silicone rubber (LSR) mould and moulding technology, becoming a benchmark in the industry. By leveraging innovative technologies such as multi-material and LSR, Hongrita has successfully attracted more quality customers by solving customers' product pain points and jointly adding value to development ideas.
In order to expand and strengthen its business, Hongrita established operational bases in Cuiheng New District, Zhongshan City and Penang State, Malaysia in 2015 and 2019, and the management initiated an all-round upgrading and transformation in 2018, formulated a medium- and long-term development plan and ESG sustainable development strategy to fully cultivate a win-win culture. Now, Hongrita is moving towards the goal of building a world-class lighthouse factory by upgrading digital intelligence, AI application, OKR and other activities to improve management effectiveness and per capita efficiency.

How optimizing tooling design, material selection, and injection processes saves long-term operational costs.
For industrial buyers in Lima, Callao, and Arequipa, choosing a plastic injection molding partner involves balancing upfront tooling costs with long-term component durability. Low-cost molds often lead to frequent downtime, flashing, and dimensional variations that halt assembly lines. By partnering with a globally established manufacturer, Peruvian businesses benefit from advanced engineering support, rapid prototyping, and molds that can withstand millions of cycles without degradation.
Furthermore, our multi-regional manufacturing bases in Shenzhen, Zhongshan, and Penang guarantee supply chain redundancy. In an era of unpredictable maritime shipping logistics, having access to multiple shipping corridors ensures that custom tooling and molded components reach Peruvian ports on time, keeping local industrial operations running smoothly.
